Ginza Iwa ~ Tokyo
We were late to our reservation at Ginza Iwa, but if the chef was annoyed he did not show it. We were quickly seated in the last two open spots and joined eight other diners in the exceeding small, starkly minimalist dining room. The room was almost completely silent throughout the duration of our 13-course omakase lunch; every eye was riveted to the deft, delicate gestures of the chef. As for the food, it was like the entire experience: perfect.
